1979

Born in a village in Gorkha

My name is Misheal Pariyar, and my life story is one of faith, perseverance, and service. Born in 1979 in a remote village of Gorkha, Nepal, I was raised in a large, impoverished family that faced daily struggles to meet basic needs. My parents, who were uneducated and belonged to the untouchable caste, worked tirelessly as farmers to support us. Despite these hardships, my family's dedication enabled me to attend school — walking two hours each day on unpaved roads, without electricity or access to healthcare.

1991

A children's home in Kathmandu

At the age of 12, I found new hope when I was taken to the Christian Welfare Children's Home in Kathmandu. There, I received both physical and spiritual nurturing, which helped me grow into a confident young boy. After returning to my village and completing my schooling, I aspired to become a medical doctor to serve the poor and sick in Nepal's remote areas. I studied science in Kathmandu but had to discontinue due to financial constraints.

1999

From interpreter to pharmacist

In 1999, I volunteered as an interpreter at a medical camp in Nepal, which opened my eyes to the healthcare needs of my people. With support from Christian friends abroad, I completed a Medical Lab Technician course and later became a qualified pharmacist. In 2009, I established my own pharmacy and clinic. I also worked in various health organizations, clinics, and school health programs, witnessing firsthand the plight of orphaned and vulnerable children.

2004

Mamta Childcare Trust begins

Deeply moved by my own upbringing in a children's home, I decided to give back. In 2004, together with my wife Mamta Pradhan — who shares my passion — we founded Mamta Childcare Trust (MCCT). We started by caring for 10 homeless and orphaned children, and within a year, expanded to 16. Over time, we sought support from donors, and in 2010, we partnered with Generosity Church Australia, which began sponsoring 20 children. With their support we purchased land, built a dedicated facility, and moved into our own premises in 2015. MCCT now provides love, shelter, education, and skills training to children aged 4 to 20. Many have gone on to become professionals in various fields. Our goal has always been to nurture them into independent, capable adults who can contribute meaningfully to society.

THE WORK

Four commitments we still carry from Bathurst.

The story of Misheal Pariyar and Mamta Pradhan from a farming village in Gorkha to a children's home, free medical camps across rural Nepal, and a kitchen on Keppel Street.

Mamta Childcare Trust

Shelter, education and skills training for children aged 4 to 20, on our own premises since 2015. A restaurant run by Mamta and our grown children beside MCCT has supported the work and provided employment since 2015.

Gorkha Association of Social Health

Since 2016 we have organised medical camps across rural districts, providing free healthcare to thousands of poor and sick people, bringing hope and healing to neglected communities.

Generosity Church Nepal

A church for both spiritual growth and social welfare — community development and humanitarian aid, especially assisting pastors, leaders and believers who face persecution and poverty.

Pharmacy & Clinic

Providing affordable medicines, basic healthcare, and support to people in need, while contributing to our wider medical outreach across Nepal.

2023 — TODAY

A kitchen in Bathurst, a mission in Nepal.

After dedicating 18 years to social service, in 2023 our family relocated to Bathurst, Australia, where we have now lived for three years. Although we are afar, we remain deeply committed to our mission — funding MCCT, medical outreach and community development through Generosity Church Australia. Recently we launched Nepalese Food Hub in Bathurst, NSW. Many of our Australian friends first experienced Nepalese cuisine during their travels or mission trips to Nepal since 2009. Now both the Nepalese community here and local food lovers can enjoy authentic flavours right in town.

" This family business is more than just a commercial venture. It is a way for us to connect cultures, share traditions, and make a positive difference. 10% of our business profits go directly toward supporting our social welfare charity in Nepal. "

GUIDED BY HIS WORD

Our journey has been driven by faith, hope, and a desire to serve.

We believe that with God's help we can bring light to the lives of many vulnerable children and communities in Nepal and beyond. We invite others to join us through prayer, support, and partnership.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

JOHN 13:34–35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”

LUKE 12:33

“Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail.”
